FAQs About AES Filing

  • What are self-propelled vehicles?

  • Why does the seller of my vehicle require an EIN to submit AES?

If the Canadian buyer of a vehicle does not physically enter the U.S. to purchase, the U.S. seller remains the principal party of interest (PPI). Any U.S. PPI must have an EIN for census purposes with CBP.
