As of September 1st, 2025, Canada has updated its list of U.S. products subject to counter tariffs. Notably, this removes most goods other than steel, aluminum, and automobiles newer than 25 years old. While counter-tariffs still apply to automobiles, Canada’s September 1st update now removes the surtax for vehicles over 25 years old.
That means you can finally import your U.S.-made classic car duty- and surtax-free.
